Facilities Project Manager

Resourcing Group is currently recruiting a Facilities Project Manager within Education in the Washington Heights neighborhood in New York.

The Facilities Project Manager will manage moderately complex facilities projects, including capital renovations, new construction, implementation, maintenance and repairs.

Key duties include;

  • Provide supervision, planning, organization, and scheduling of work assigned to contractors.
  • Ensure high level customer satisfaction with the delivery of Facility Management services, providing a lead role in monitoring and increasing customer satisfaction.
  • Manage and respond to facilities requests, ensuring a timely and quality service to clients.
  • Coordinate and manage move and change activities.
  • Oversee daily work order review and follow up to ensure superior customer service exceeds key performance indicators.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of operating and capital budgets.
  • Work with financial team to reconcile monthly invoice.
  • Verify scope of work and review bidding documents and change orders.
  • Drafts requests for proposal (RFP).
  • Recommend and negotiate with contractors for projects using RFP and bidding process.
  • Review and evaluate schedule of payments to contractors.
  • Manage construction aspects of projects, including coordinating work by contractors / vendors.
  • Develops and manages project punch list items in support of project completion.
  • Performs required and periodic facility inspections to determine work requirements and to prepare reports and KPI reports (monthly and quarterly).
  • Utilizes a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to manage work orders, and to create or modify existing proactive preventative maintenance and cleaning schedules.


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, facilities/construction management or architecture.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in facilities project management and/or construction or equivalent combination of work experience.
  • Sound understanding of design, building engineering and construction processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications.
  • Demonstrated project management and vendor management skills.
  • Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of architecture and building design.
  • Considerable knowledge of building materials;
  • Knowledge of plan development, bidding, and administration;
  • Basic knowledge of financial terms and principles including the ability to perform statistical analysis;
  • Ability to work overtime (evenings/weekends).
