Job description

Superintendent required for a ground up project based in Manhattan- Primary role is to provide overall field management and administration to field employees, subcontractors, vendors and suppliers. You may be required to manage a major project or many smaller projects simultaneously.

Core Responsibilities

  • Deliver a quality project safely, on time, within budget and with focus on establishing positive relationships
  • Manage subcontractors and vendors in a coordinated manner.
  • Provide input and valuable review of subcontractor scope to assist the PM
  • Ensure that Quality Control requirements are met and followed in accordance with the Contract Documents
  • Provide assistance with pre-job planning, strategizing and conceptual scheduling
  • Produce tight, realistic construction schedules
  • Ensure that no subcontractor is allowed to work on-site without an approved Insurance certificate, signed Subcontract or a Letter of Intent
  • Produce daily reports and Weekly Status Reports and assist the project team in developing monthly cost reports
  • Take digital progress photographs
  • Establish good working relationships with government agencies


  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA 1926 and related Corporate Safety Program
  • Thorough knowledge of Safety Risk Management process, including understanding of EMR, IR, SR, FR and how to effectively improve Safety performance ratings in each of these areas
  • Thorough knowledge of confined space, hazmat, asbestos, lead paint and other hazard policies and procedures
  • Successfully completed OSHA 30-hour safety training
  • Successfully completed First Aid and annual CPR training
