Assistant Director of Facilities

Healthcare Provider

Yorkers, NY

Resourcing Group is working with a healthcare services provider, recruiting an Assistant Director within their Facilities department. This is an exciting and dynamic full time position, providing daily supervision of operations and maintenance of the facility.

As Assistant Director of Facilities, some of your daily activities will include completing preventative maintenance tasks within the documented timeline, which also includes initiating work orders, completing projects and maintaining records. You will also be supervising the maintenance department, putting together staff schedules, overseeing work that has been completed and conducting employee training. Renovations and improvements will be planned out and budgeted, along with inventory and ordering. This position offers a wide variety of problem solving and management for a self- motivated individual.

Key duties will include;

  • Reporting to the Facilities Director, the Assistant will coordinate the efforts of the Project Management team to ensure projects are completed on budget and on schedule using the appropriate resources.
  • The Assistant Director will aid in the management of facility planning and construction for various capital projects within the hospital or at offsite practice/office locations.
  • In conjunction with the Associate Director, develops project management plan and timeline to ensure successful completion of deliverables.
  • Effectively communicates project status with internal and external stakeholders, anticipates problems and proposes solutions to complete tasks.
  • Understands and oversees project budget and works collaboratively with appropriate staff and departments to ensure appropriate expenditure of project funds.
  • Managing and coordinating staff for capital projects
  • Responsible for project oversight of renovation/construction projects from start to finish, including monitoring and reporting on the progress throughout the process.
  • Assists in planning for facility improvement at various practice locations
  • Coordinate Request/Reporting system for all projects
  • Implements standards throughout all practice locations
  • Mentors staff in project management competencies
  • Manages multiple tasks of varied complexity simultaneously
  • Supervises consultants and subcontractors

Experience Required

  • A Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management or related field
  • 5 years of experience in a facilities management position in healthcare.
  • Certification in an Engineering field is a strong plus.
  • Incumbent must be able to serve on an "on-call" basis and report to the facility in a timely manner in the event of an emergency.
